Every year the Prairie Village Environment and Recycle Committee collaborates with Shawnee Mission East High School to provide this “no barriers” event for the community to enhance understanding of, and familiarity with, services, information and products that will help us to sustain a green and healthy renewable world.

“No barriers” has meant free to exhibit and free to attend. And an atmosphere that is welcoming to all ages, young and old.

Students of the SM East have participated throughout the years by designing the posters and providing exhibits that are either educational, fun crafts for kids, or both, as a way of engaging new generations in the matter of celebrating nature and our environment.

Each year we continue to look for additional educators, mentors and community leaders to provide educational exhibits to help our community learn about sustainability, ecology and green practices.

We are also looking for eco-friendly businesses to provide vendor booths in our Eco-friendly Vending Village, with products and services such as organic produce, Fair Trade gifts, eco-fashions and items made from renewable resources.
